The most simplest of reviews go our 1st visit to La Rocca: quaint, incredible, delectable & inviting. Nicole & her family, "team", are hands down the friendliest of people; sharing her story of her success, all the while never forgetting her & families beginning. We are here for 4 nights & plan to return Saturday night, to try Nicole's pizza that she raved about as we divulged our pasta dinners(the shrimp alla vodka is to die for); and for my picky dinner partner, he enjoyed the spaghetti with meat sauce). This gem of a restaurant is a must visit!!

We chose this restaurant based on other reviews and we were thoroughly pleased. The owner greeted us and explained the food and wine, which was very helpful. We ordered the Rocca Della Macie chanti and it was great for the $28 price. I had the Penne LaRocca and it was fabulous! The bruschetta was also a must try.

Excellent! Had a wonderful experience at La Rocca. The waitress (owner?) was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She took the time to offer recommendations as to what to order from the menu and we were not disappointed. We ordered the stuffed artichoke as an appetizer. It was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend had the veal gorgonzola, which we were told is one of the most popular dishes, and he ate every last bite. I had the chicken puttanesca. This was by far the best I have had, it was not overly salty as some tend to be and was incredibly flavorful. The next time I am visiting in North Port I will be sure to stop in again; I highly recommend!

Still enjoying this wonderful restaurant. I hope they never leave North Port because pickings are very, very slim for good food around here. Just love the owners and always leave happy. If you haven't gone yet, please do. You won't be disappointed.

Great food but afraid to go there anymore you might have to wear a bulletproof vest I think it's mafia The owner / cook has big fights with the people next-door in the bar not a safe place to go!!

We love this place we go there the first night we arrive at our North Port home and we go again the last night before we leave. The food is out of this world wonderful and each dish is prepared for you We consider our palate as Italian foodies and have been to some of the finest Italian places in America and you will be delighted if you love truly good Italian cuisine. Nicole and family are so sweet, kind and friendly. So many good dishes. If you call ahead with a special request they will do it. Love this place. To the reviewer who said be afraid...........never heard a loud word, never seen a fight. Feel very safe there...........

My wife and I stopped in for dinner. I had Putenesca with spaghetti, which was the best I have have ever had. My wife had a chicken dish that was equally good. Several nights later we stopped in for a pizza and ordered a 14 in veggie pizza. Couple of tablespoons of thin red sauce, a small handful of cheese and a dollars worth of veggies, which they marked up to over 17$. We will not order a pizza there ever again.

OK. For those poor souls who seek a nice Italian dining experience and good value in North Port, Florida, a virtual food desert, La Rocca is an oasis. The owners are European by way of Miami, and they know how to cook. If you want 10 pounds of pasta and a belly ache, go to Olive Garden. If you have a moderately refined palate, then La Rocca is your place. If you don't know what the word palate means, see Olive Garden comment above.

My partner and I have dined here several times and we have never had a bad meal. We celebrated my father's birthday and instead of Olive Garden we came here. I shared the fried calamari which is usually light and crispy and full of rings. We had more tentacles than rings and the pieces were small, crumbly. I had the minestrone and some of my Dad's pasta bean soup. Both were delicious. My main dish was Chicken Francese and it's my favorite. Always done to perfection every single time. We all shared desserts and I ate their famous Tiramisu which was to die for. There usually is a young, thin girl with a pretty smile and pleasant demeanor who seats us but last night it was the owner's wife. She made us feel less inviting maybe because we didn't seem like we knew how to order or maybe it's the European but she came off rude in the beginning. As the night went on and our bill grew to over 120 she changed her tune. I take away one star for the tacky decor and location and Christmas song being played in August! If you ignore all f that you will have Beautiful meal.

terrible. Ordered a chicken Caesar salad. Chicken over done. Dressing super salty. (On the side). Not mentioned on menu on side. Pretty easy to throw lettuce on a dish and charge 16 bucks. Eggplant was frozen before parmed. Waitress was very nice. Place dead. Went on recommendation. Live and learn. Never ever again. Want italian? ????? Dinatos is where you should spend your money! !! They blow this place up!!!!!!!!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
